 Starbucks 
The global coffeehouse chain has joined the hip lineup of hotels, restaurants and retail along Broadway that includes the Ace Hotel, John Dory Oyster Bar, Opening Ceremony, and coming soon, the NoMad Hotel and Restaurant. The new location, at 1140 Broadway and 26th Street, is open weekdays from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and weekends from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

 Free Tax Time Assistance from Baruch College 
Residents who need help preparing their 2011 federal and New York State income tax returns can find it at Baruch College. The school's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program is made up of Baruch student volunteers certified by the IRS and qualified to complete federal forms 1040 and 1040A and New York State forms IT 150 and IT 201, plus all accompanying schedules. The program will run through Tuesday, April 17, and is located at Baruch's Library and Technology Building, 151 East 25th Street, at the right side of the lobby. There are also six other sites throughout the city. The program is open to everyone, but specifically aimed at immigrant and low-income New Yorkers who may not be able to afford the service or face a language barrier.
Hours of operation are Tuesdays through Thursdays noon to 7 p.m.; Fridays noon to 6 p.m.; and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. As usual, there is no fee. Clients will be accommodated on a walk-in basis, first-come, first-served. For a complete list of locations and hours, click here.

 MTA Overnight Service Changes Impacting the Flatiron District 
Overnight subway shutdowns will take place on the 1, 2 and 3 subway lines between 34th Street-Penn Station and Atlantic Avenue-Pacific Street in Brooklyn. From Monday, Feb. 13 to Friday, Feb. 17, there will be no train service between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Free Walking Tours
From the site of Stanford White's infamous love nest to the story of America's first community Christmas tree, the Flatiron Partnership's free walking tours offer a unique perspective of a historic neighborhood. Expert guides spin a spellbinding narrative filled with inside information about the area's more colorful figures and its architectural wonders like the MetLife Clock Tower, the Flatiron Building, and the exquisite NYS Appellate Courthouse.
The tour meets every Sunday (rain or shine) at 11:00 a.m. at the southwest corner of Madison Square Park, 23rd Street and Broadway, in front of the William Seward statue. For more information, click here.
